Its programs range from recreational, competitive, and health-oriented sports to rehabilitation sports and are designed for all age groups. For soccer enthusiasts, FC Verden 04 is a well-known destination. The club’s first men’s team competes in the Lower Saxony Soccer Oberliga and offers both youth and adult players the opportunity to pursue their passion.
The Association of Verden Sports Clubs (AVS), founded on January 14, 1970, is an umbrella organization for local sports clubs. It distributes sports funding from the City of Verden to the clubs and operates on a volunteer basis. The board consists of five members and supports the clubs in their work.
