Freitag has been supplying its customers with delicious cookie and wafer creations for over 75 years. The focus is on the Manufacture of private label products. Whether in the office kitchen, at a birthday party or simply as a sweet snack between meals: Almost everyone has enjoyed a Freitag cookie at some point, but may not even realize it. The name is not always on the packet. As a private label manufacturer, Freitag supplies large discounters such as Aldi, REWE and Edeka. The company also exports 30 percent of its goods all over the world. Verden cookies at Christmas parties in New Zealand or at a tea party in France - a real success story.
In 1946, founder Hans Freitag Sr. set up his own bakery and confectionery. However, he was always drawn to being a manufacturer. Just two years later, the company building in Siemensstrasse in Verden was built. Since then, the focus has been on long-life baked goods. After the early death of Hans Freitag senior, his wife Anita took over the business as a young widow and mother of three. A challenge? Certainly. At the same time, a hands-on mentality that still characterizes the company and family today. The fourth generation is now active in the company and is growing into responsibility. Freitag is a Verden-based company with deep roots in the region and strong ties to it. In the meantime, the Heidekeks company in Schneverdingen (formerly Bahlsen Group) has also joined the Hans Freitag Group. Family-run and equipped for the Future : Freitag stands for good working conditions. The employees often stay with the company for a long time, it is a community that has grown, some of them really feel at home in the company. The upcoming generational change will not change this. Freitag continues to stand for reliability, transparency and security, as a reliable and secure employer at the Verden site and in the region.
