The Waldheim Foundation will accompany you for a Life if you wish

Everyone is welcome here with their uniqueness

Not everyone has the same opportunities. The Waldheim Foundation strengthens and promotes those who need support in order to participate in a Life in the middle of society within their means.

At the Waldheim Foundation, children, young people, adults and senior citizens find a home - for Life if they wish. They are offered individual living, working and leisure activities that are not only geared towards their different needs, but also create the basis for quality of life.

In addition to special forms of housing, three day care centers, two day care centers, outpatient services in the districts of Verden and Diepholz as well as the WABE counseling and meeting center in Achim, the Waldheim Foundation is the school sponsor of the Helene-Grulke-Schule.

We promote individual strengths and goals

The Waldheim Foundation offers people the opportunity to go their own way and grow successfully - this applies equally to people with disabilities and employees.

In 1932, Helene Grulke and Lina Schüßler laid the foundation stone for today's Waldheim Foundation, from which the Helene Grulke School developed in 1979 and the Waldheim Workshops in 1998. The Albertushof was added as a donation in 1996 - together, these four independent social institutions form the Waldheim Group with over 900 employees.

What they all have in common is great expertise, profound knowledge and the ability to be human.

Our job is full of action and responsibility

"

Our goal is the equal participation of people with disabilities in social Life. We accompany them on their way to the greatest possible independence and self-determination. The commitment of our employees is the basis for quality of life and participatory interaction.

Carl-Georg Issing, Member of the Management Board

Social movement!

Creative freedom and teamwork

The Waldheim Foundation is much more than some might think at first glance. First and foremost, it is a family place. Despite its decentralized nature, this mission statement applies to every single location in the districts of Verden and Diepholz.

Quite a few employees have been working at the Waldheim Foundation for 35, 40 and even 45 years. They have found their life partner here and it is not uncommon for the second generation to find their professional home at the Waldheim Foundation. The mix of young and old, rich in experience and full of fresh ideas, disabled and non-disabled, is what makes up the spirit of the organization.

Every year, the Waldheim Foundation trains around 20 new junior staff and employs a total of 90 trainees, students and volunteers (FSJ/BFD).
